Media Pitching

With PSPR’s reporting background, we don’t really do well with “no.” Although respectful and always looking towards future opportunities, we are really good at calling and emailing and calling and Tweeting and Facebooking and calling until we are successful. My wife finds that annoying. But with her, I’m just trying to find out what is for supper. However, she agrees it’s a great attribute for someone pitching your product.

“Robb is a great public relations expert. He just gets it. He knows what it takes to make a good TV story. I can’t wait to work with him again.”
Vanessa Weber, Good Morning America Investigative Producer
“Robb understands what I do, and helps me do it better. He understands time is money and I won’t work with someone who is prone to wasting either.”
Chris Nagus, St.Louis CBS Reporter
“With Robb Yagmin’s communications expertise; together we were able to come up with viable news stories, successfully solicit news coverage and bring much needed donations to our non-profit organization. His media know-how was instrumental to our success.”
Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas
“Robb’s creative writing, his continued ability to find ‘news-hooks’ and his unwavering persistence keeps my bar in the news. That’s right, my BAR is getting press coverage.”
Sean Conroy, International Tap House owner

“Robb is a one-in-a-million PR pro who knows how to pitch a story and how to get in contact with the right people. He is persistent, creative, connected and very thorough. He took time to develop relationships with the tour and by the end of the run, people on tour knew who he was. He takes initiative so it was a definite pleasure to work with him and I hope we get the chance to work together again soon!”
Vanessa Napoli, Cirque du Soleil publicist

“Robb was able to get my story placed with the right stations at the right time. And after the booking, he provided good support to make sure I arrived where and when I needed to. Except for that time his wife took his phone for going to Las Vegas without permission”
Tom Baker, Learning RX
“Robb has been a pleasure to work with. He is professional, attentive to detail, and provided such positive media experiences for us throughout Missouri. Everyone we met who knew him spoke very highly of him and it was very obvious to us that he cared immensely about us and the project we wished to publicize. Thank you, Robb!”
Cloe Whittaker and Tyson Jerry, Driven to Sustain
“I get pitches from PR firms everyday. Some just sit in my inbox and are never opened. When I get a pitch from Robb I open it right away. That’s because I know it’s going to be worth my time. In a business where time matters you can’t wait to have your message go unanswered.”
Eric Chaloux, Kansas City CBS Reporter
“Robb Yagmin took the promotion of our web series “The Unreal Housewives of Kansas City” to a whole new level. He drove thousands of new viewers to our site with his connections and expert knowledge of this market. He quickly got us on three top radio stations during the morning drive. His creative and catchy press release brought a local television news crew to our set. We were so pleased with the great coverage and response. I would recommend Robb to anyone interested in generating buzz about a product or service.”

Media Coaching

We can teach you to talk in 9 seconds soundbites. That’s the perfect length to answer the reporter’s question and to slide in something self-serving. That’s easy. What is harder, is teaching you to NOT say anything while in front of the media’s microphone. I held that mic for 15 years and can teach you the tricks, tips and fibs which would get me the best sound out of my interviewees. PSPR specializes in helping folks prepare for their media opportunities. From police officers to county employees to CEOs to mommy bloggers to chefs to city spokesmen, we transform talking heads into super savvy media experts.

“Robb’s seminar provides ‘inside the making of an interview’ in a way that only he can. His insight will improve your ability to deliver your message and for you to look your best when the television crew shows up at your door.”
Jeff Lanza, Retired FBI Agent
“The media training provided by PSPR’s Robb Yagmin was excellent! He gave an insightful view of our local media and offered great tips on interviewing to ensure effective message delivery and how to improve on-camera performance. The information provided was practical and very useful in my role as a public information officer.”
Barbara Mitchell, Johnson County Health Department
“We greatly appreciated your presentation on the use of social media for public information officers. Your delivery was both enthusiastic and engaging, and we received numerous positive comments from the participants about your portion of the training. Thank you for sharing your expertise, and we look forward to working with you in the future.”
